It is probably pretty evident from the image of my shower gels in my first blog post that I don’t particularly reach for regular line shower gels other than The Comforter. This is mostly because I haven’t tried many and when I do try them I always get a 100g bottle just incase I dont like it and because I know that if I do like it I will easily be able to get more.
The first one I decided to get was Don’t Rain On My Parade shower gel purely because the tag line on the website was “you gotta try once” and I had seen it on instagram a few times. This turned up as part of a huge order I placed in January and kind of got swept to one side because I had so much Snow Fairy and Lord of Misrule and I’d managed to grab Twilight in the Kitchen.
Upon first sniff of this shower gel I thought it smelled really manly and wasnt too sure but went ahead with trying it in the shower anyway. The best way I can think to describe the smell is a reverse Ultraviolet bubble bar, the earthy tones are really strong with a hint of violet and vanilla whereas with Ultraviolet you smell the Violet before the earthy tones. Here are some photographs thanks to my wonderful hand model; my older sister.
This product is very watery and slips out of your hand very easily, it’s also really clear which makes it look watered down.
Despite how watery it looks and feels you do get a good lather from it if you really go for it but it does require you use more of the product than most other shower gels.
I don’t think I will buy this again for myself but my stepdad likes to borrow it so it may become his. I think it makes a good pair with Ultraviolet bubble bar for a little extra to your bubbles but I do not like the smell of it in my hair. If you are looking for a product with earthy smells this is great but I’m a fan of the sweeter smells.
